Yes, they are/were.

History of Easter Eggs
My personal opinion is that there is a pagan side to every holiday but since I don't follow the pagan beliefs, then why should it affect me? We have our own set of beliefs that always center around Jesus Christ. We don't follow the rituals of the heathens of the past, but teach our children our ways.
Yes, Easter Eggs were once a part of a worship practice towards the "Sun God" but we believe that an Easter Egg is a symbol of the rebirth of Jesus Christ, the one who came to the earth to demonstrate God's love and teach us how to believe. He is the one who died on the cross to save us from our sins and who rose from the grave. He is alive today and lives!

The Beginning of the Birthday Celebration
We started Emerson's birthday morning with pancakes for breakfast. He normally loves pancakes, but today he wanted to eat POPS cereal right out of the box instead. Today is HIS day so he can do what he wants, I guess. :)
Jayden was nice enough to sing a modified version of Happy Birthday to his brother which was an added bonus to the birthday breakfast.

Getting Ready for the Big Party
There's always so much to do when planning a birthday party. I am so glad that I ordered all of the plates, cups, napkins, and forks a month ago to save time. Good thinking on my part! Yesterday, I went to the Dollar Tree to find favors for all of the kids. I didn't want to spend too much money on favors, especially because we have sixteen confirmed kids attending and was able to walk out spending $20 on a ton of fun stuff!
To the left of the counter are the favors. Each child will receive a "Dear God" book, a card game (either Old Maid, Crazy 8's, or Go Fish), a lizard, a watch, and a blow thing.
Here are the loot bags that will hold the favors. I put names on every bag and made sure that siblings didn't receive the same game, lizard, book, or colored watch.

The birthday present that Jayden picked out for Emerson and helped wrap.
The view of our front room. The long table set up is just for the kids! There will be a table placed closer to the window for adults and adults can also use our glass dining room table to sit at. There aren't going to be enough places for people to sit!
Tablecloths, etc. I think I will put the tablecloths on today to save time. I'm all about saving time and being prepared this year!

One Big Playdate
I thought it would be fun to invite several friends over for a big playdate. Normally I meet with only one or two other moms at a time, but this time I decided to invite four over. There were nine kids total! Jayden and Emerson loved having all their friends over. They all ran around like crazy and ate 2 1/2 dozen cookies that I had made! We had pizza for lunch which was a fun surprise for our guests.
Smart little guys
It got very quiet and I thought to myself, "Where are those guys and what are they in to?"
I looked around and found them...
They were sitting and reading their comic books very quiety and peacefully. I just had to get a picture!

Potty Training
Potty Training has begun! Emerson was "acting" like he was ready and sure enough he was! I am proud to say that he uses his toiled 95% of the time while we are home. He's doing great and what's even better is that he's not even 2 yet!
